Ride Rated This song won awards: Very
impressive, catchy and quirky! Outstanding duo!!! Right from the start, the interesting choice of precussions seem to knock on the door inviting you in to this well thought out and performed tune. Powerful vocals - not only as individuals singing to each other, but combined they create a most powerful harmony! These two compliment each other and the music beautifully. The music itself was worderfully arranged and played to perfection. This is a must hear tune. Very impressive. Looking forward to hearing more of this high calibre duo! - ChasinSprints from Lapeer, Michigan on 7May2006 Nice mix A little long of a song for lack of reason. A lot of the same feel going on over and over. I will say that there are a lot of catchy qualities however. The singing is really, really good. I love the harmony work throughout. The recording is really good as well. Nice mix of instruments. - phantommusicbox from In A Box, With A Lock on 20May2006 Nice and simple A simple melody which is nice but repeated too often. The production and levels of the track are good and it is well performed. There are some talented musicians here no doubt. - DemonicUpchucks from Unspecified on 18May2006 Flowing Tune Inventive sound and move...intro like Everly Bros. doing reggae. Then the vocals take over in a more powerful, soulful way. Interesting and eclectic sounding mix of rhythm instruments. One oddity is the strings (synth?) that seem out of step during the chorus, but then seem to come back into syncopation with the verse. The harmonies really work from beginning to end, with nice bluesy vocal chord near the end as the track switches gears and turns a nice acoustic blues guitar duet to fade out. This is a well recorded, imaginative song with a light touch on a melodic wave. - kkurtley from Charlotte, North Carolina on 14May2006 Acoustic Dancing I'd love to see you live (at this point not sure how many of you there are although it sounds like a duo). Guitar wise you remind me of Jon Gomm, you should check him out. nice harmonies and interplay between the two vocalists. Good luck in the future. - FINKAOUTLOUD from Manchester, England, United Kingdom on 14May2006 Nice song Really nice intro to the song. The voices of the guy and the girl blend really well. Good arrangement with the interesting percussion and strings. - quanuum from Charleston, Illinois on 13May2006 What the hell is suburbanbilly anyhow? The opening is VERY engaging, it got my attention extremely well. Nice silence around :55 seconds. I was almost hoping for a shift there, maybe a move to chorus. Both of you have great voices! Glad to hear the chorus finally at 1:35. This song is timed out very well. I don't stayed bored for too long, there are definitely enough shifts to keep me "tuned in". Nice outro! Thanks for the track- -Alex - AlexDavis from Tallahassee, Florida on 13May2006 NICE VOCALS I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY YOU RUINED THIS PRETTY GOOD SONG WITH ALL THAT CLICKING AND TAPPING! FOR ME THAT BACKGROUND 'NOISE' COMPLETELY WIPED OUT EVERYTHING I LIKED ABOUT THE SONG. THE VOCALS WERE VERY GOOD AND SOUNDED GOOD TOGETHER. I'D LIKE TO HEAR SOME MORE OF YOUR SONGS WITHOUT SO MUCH GOING ON IN THE BACKGROUND. - ReneeSears from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom on 13May2006 easy to listen to now that's smooth! excellent intro - the song has almost a sexy feeling to it - the dual male/female vocals are rich, soulful and recorded tight - the acoustic guitar plays a simple yet effect rhythm match with a a series of percussive instruments - easy to listen to - the lyrics are ok not as strong as the tone created here - not that they are bad...i think this a good song, good effort - meyersongs from Roxbury, Connecticut on 12May2006 Nice I like the guitar intro... nice harmonics. Nice vocal harmonies. Nice vocals... very soulful. I REALLY like this song. I have a few suggestions. 1. Create a more distinct dichotomy between the chorus and the versus. The chorus needs more energy... maybe different instrumentation... something to make it stand out. 2. The song is a little too long for what it is. It repeats itself alot. 3. Reduce the volume on the backup vocals during the one version of the chorus with the thirds walk up... i think its thirds. 4. Don't bury that nice guitar solo at the end... sandwich it in between one of the verses... it will help add some variation to the song. I liked it... best of luck. - rundells from Troy, Michigan on 10May2006 Good I thought it was fun and catchy but it did not have much depth at all. I ldisliked the guitar parts and did not like the lyrics. It was an ok song. - jacknunter from Pacific Palisadess, California on 9May2006 NO NO NICE CATCHY GUITAR AT THE START, WITH A COOL VERSE. A LITTLE TOO MANY YA YA'S FOR ME. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A CHORUS. TOO MANY YA'S THIS SONG IS NOT GOOD FOR ME. VOCALS ARE A LITTLE OFF AND THE ARRANGEMENT IS LACKING QUALITY. - SOULHEADS from Unspecified on 9May2006 great music to vaccum to. This is seriously the kind of music I pop in when im in cleaning mode. This would get me pumped up to vacuum my room and dust my shelves. The vocals are beautiful and happy, just like me when i clean. you guys mesh well together like sonny and cher. i want a piggy back ride from both of you. for all the listeners, if youre in a silly loving mood, or cleaning mood, this is great to boost your mood to HAPPY! fred rogers would give you an 11+ on this one. maybe offer it to barney and bank. - JaydenSentence from Unspecified on 9May2006 Like it was suddenly Sunday afternoon Funky groove. Nice interplay between the two voices. I think that synth is at odds with the otherwise organic sounding instrumentation, which I assume is why it is buried. It's nice to hear a guitar player with this kind of command. Cool. - EvilRoySlade from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 8May2006 simple and very effective great intro. very folksy. this is the sort of song i would sing round a campfire in the desert. - QatarLa from Liverpool / Doha on 8May2006 Review Very nice opening. It could be a tinge tighter but overall really nice. The vocal intro is interesting too. I like it. There is just a bit of dissonance that I like. The vocalist both just sounds so confident to me. You can tell they are very comfortable with there voice. They know where they are going, or should I say what is going to come out. I like the clippity stuff too. I'm not sure about the hook, the piggy back ride thing. It might be a bit hokey for this tune. Overall very nice though. - genoman2462 from Madison, Wisconsin on 5May2006 Good Recording An intriquing start to the song. Good recording. The acoustic guitar sound is particularly good - very much like what an acoustic sounds like in the room with you. The percussion is unconventional - I like. The tempo wanders throughout the song. I like the vocal interplay and the blend on the harmonies. The acapella thing that happens at 4:10 is a gutsy choice that pays off - really well-executed. When the song changes gears after that it's slow to get going. The guitar interplay ends up being fun after a few bars, but up until then it's not too inspired. - Panting from Unspecified on 4May2006 nice percussion and strings i found the percussion to be very interesting and pleasing to my ear. the lyrics were not as satisfying as the melody would have allowed in my opinion. it was a little long for the amount and quality of lyrics. the voices sounded better together than alone. i like the use of the stringed instrument(s). so, the music was good, but i didn't like the lyrical content. - jenbluhm from Minneapolis, Minnesota on 3May2006 piggy back ride Acoustic guitar and percussion going on in the beginning of this number give the feeling of a traditional folk idea. The "oh yeah" melodies lend the mood towards a more alternative folk idea. Reminded me of a pixies song in a couple spots as it got to the first verse. The lead vocals sound all right here. A few shakey spots. Sounds like a live take to me. Seems like there's some good energy, or emotion coming through in a few places. The oh yeahs started to get a little too repetitive maybe. I liked the "piggy back ride" lyrics. Gives this song a bit a blues type of flavor I felt. All things considered, I thought this song was good. A little long in length, but I really liked the acoustic guitar playing as the song faded out. Nice work. - gcan from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 3May2006 not speaking to me does not speak to me, what is this song about? The title is memorable but not in a good way. This title should have never passed the screening process. - gene_67 from Venice, California on 3May2006 question I son't know what this song is about. who is this song about? what is the universally shared emotion? Situation? Meaning? clue us in. - gaadpp from Unspecified on 3May2006 |

NEW! Signature Reviews from Garageband.com WOW!! I am not real impressed with many bands I review here but yours blew me away. I was suprised because I don't usually like this genre of music. After i reviewed "With the Leaves" I started making all kinds of plans for this song! Like how it would be great music to play for my husband during a romantic dinner or how nice it would be to hear during a country drive or even just a bubble bath! lolIt has a definate mood to it. I am sending you a friend request on MySpace too. I think you really have talent and it's good to hear originality in a world of cookie cutter tunes.
