Nice
I dig the banjo. Great voice. Female singer is coming from an honest place, vocally, which is no small feat. Great song, overall.

Good Stuff
Good song writing and great musicianship, strong vocals for both performers. The one thing that i didn't like was the fact that the song seemed to start and stop to many times. it made it hard to really get in to. I think you have two good movements that make a good song but the tempo just changes to frequently to really get into a good groove.

Listen to Nickel Creek
I love the acoustic sound here. A little beatles influence, but not too much. The banjo is implemented nicely. Then we go slow all of a sudden. That is different. Ahh. I knew it, vocal time. Decent singer. I little depressing sounding, but that may be the mood you are trying to bring out here. Glad you kept bringing back the upbeat riff. Otherwise, this song would be really boring. Male vocals are ok but not as good as the female singer. You guys should listen to a band called Nickel Creek, might help you out a little. Because it sounds like that is the direction you are attempting to move in.

Good
Nice acoustic guitar part. I like it. Upbeat and catchy. Never been a big fan of the banjo, but the way it is implemented here was tasteful and worked well for the song. I did get starting the song upbeat and then going fingerstyle. Almost like it is 2 songs in one. But, then I see you bring that upbeat riff back. Good. The singer is good. Great vocals. The female that is.

A kind song
This song has reminded me my childhood. We started to live fervently. Also did not reflect on the future. And there has then come a youth and it was necessary to reflect. While again have not found the way among set of other ways. A kind song.

I <3 Banjo
Good rhythm on the opening section. Beautiful, beautiful voices. Both really know how to find the melody and manipulate it to maximum effect. Great work. One of the better songs I've heard thus far.
- Minordetailsrecords from Orange, California on 19May2006

Great band, great sound, this one needs tunin..
The fast start and then the drop is musically interesting, but the two section don't tie real well together. Woman's voice stronger than man's. You're going back and forth ABABABA so far at 2:37. Let's see if you change....yes good. Nice break, this is indeed where it should drop...like the vocals coming together. Like the banjo. The nostalgic feel. Overall I think the verses need to drop in instrumentation but maintain groove, then you can really pull it down in the bridge. I'd definitely check you guys out.

love the banjo
Good chord progression. I can hear a mando thrown in there with the guitar and banjo. Banjo add a nice touch. I like the male/female vocal switch off. I'd love to hear more harmony vox punctuating the right words. Lyrics are sincere and thoughtfull. I think the vocals could come up in the mix. Overall sound is good though. Nice song!

NEW! Signature Reviews from Garageband.com

WOW!! I am not real impressed with many bands I review here but yours blew me away. I was suprised because I don't usually like this genre of music. After i reviewed "With the Leaves" I started making all kinds of plans for this song! Like how it would be great music to play for my husband during a romantic dinner or how nice it would be to hear during a country drive or even just a bubble bath! lol
It has a definate mood to it. I am sending you a friend request on MySpace too. I think you really have talent and it's good to hear originality in a world of cookie cutter tunes.

Rock on!

Epic
Let's start with the fact that it takes balls of steel to upload a nearly eight minute song for the notoriously attention-deficit garageband.com crew to review. I admit I probably groaned audibly when the time indicator popped up.

But, then I was catapulted into the song by that lovely acoustic guitar and the harmonics, and we were off . . This song builds nicely up to the 'So Alone' line.

An interesting call and response type of vocal in the first segment. Very tight. The female voice particularly is wonderfully racked with emotion, she seems like she would be comfortable in many different genres. Overall the music itself and the performance particularly were very strong

An interesting cross pollenation of styles. There are elements of a lot of different styles at work here

The banjo and harp passage was particularly delightful then the dobro slides in and the mood is painted wonderfully.

The weakness, (if there was one) I felt was in the lyrics. With an obvious attempt at something truly epic, here . . . a few of the phrases seemed a little contrived; ie. 'feeling so abused'.

I didn't care too much for the dischordant vocal slide at around 3:07. Other than that, it's an extrordinary effort, and I'm very excited to hear more from this band. Good luck!
